One Basinghall Avenue opened it’s doors earlier this year in March. The newest addition to Cavendish venues’ portfolio, a fantastic purpose built event space which can accommodate 450 in theatre style and 21 exhibition stands. It’s located in Moorgate just 2 mins walk form the Elizabeth Line and 5 minutes from Bank Station. It has already achieved B-Corp certification along with their other four venues, Minster Building, America Square Conference Centre, 22 Duchess Mews and 44 Hallam Street.
B-Corp is a certification awarded to businesses which meet some of the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Becoming a B-Corp was the natural next step for a business that has spent thirty years trying to lighten it’s footprint. The measures the judges took notice of were already in place long before certification, including:

In 2025 the EICC retained the Green Meetings gold and Green Tourism Gold award and they also Hold ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard. Spaces at The Spine is a leading event venue located in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, recognised for combining high-spec event delivery with a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability and wellbeing. Designed as part of The Spine the venue has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s most environmentally responsible and health-focused spaces for conferences, meetings and events.
What sets Spaces at The Spine apart is that sustainability is embedded from the ground up. As a purpose-built venue, environmental considerations were prioritised at every stage of design and construction. The building operates on 100% renewable energy and incorporates a smart building management system that automatically regulates lighting and temperature to reduce energy consumption. LED lighting is used throughout, cutting energy use significantly, while the layout maximises natural daylight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
Sustainable materials are also central to the venue’s design. Interiors feature low-impact materials, including flooring and finishes made from recycled plastic bottles, low-VOC paints, and responsibly sourced hardwood. These choices not only reduce environmental impact but also contribute to healthier indoor air quality for delegates.
Operationally, the venue continues this commitment through responsible waste management and low-impact event delivery. Working with specialist partners, Spaces at The Spine has achieved zero waste to landfill, with recycling, energy recovery and anaerobic digestion processes diverting significant volumes of waste. Clear recycling points throughout the venue encourage delegate participation, while ongoing monitoring helps drive continuous improvement.
Catering is another key pillar of its sustainability strategy. In partnership with Company of Cooks, menus are designed to be plant-forward, seasonal and locally sourced, reducing food miles and supporting regional suppliers. Food waste is minimised through careful planning, with surplus ingredients repurposed into café specials or redistributed via initiatives like Too Good To Go.

Woodland Grange, Make Venues’ award-winning residential conference venue in Leamington Spa, is committed to making sustainability a core part of the guest experience rather than an afterthought. As part of the wider Make UK group, the business has pledged to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve Net Zero by 2050, with a company-wide approach to reducing environmental impact across its venues. Woodland Grange combines a peaceful six-acre setting with practical, measurable initiatives designed to support more sustainable events and meetings.
A range of initiatives are in place across the venue, from a Voltage Optimisation System to reduce energy consumption and LED lighting with automatic sensors, through to reducing single-use plastics and paper use wherever possible. The venue also prioritises locally sourced produce to reduce food miles, with food waste converted into fertiliser and used cooking oil turned into biodiesel. Further initiatives include EV charging points and wildlife-supporting planting projects, all contributing to Woodland Grange’s ongoing sustainability journey. The venue also holds recognised environmental accreditations, including ISO 14001 and Green Tourism Silver status, reflecting a continued commitment to responsible business practices.
