What a customer service award means when you are booking

When we shortlist venues for a client, the room is only part of the decision. What goes wrong on the day is usually about people: a late change to numbers, a speaker whose laptop will not connect, a dietary requirement that nobody passed on. A Gold for customer service, judged by an independent panel of industry experts, tells us the team behind the venue deals with those moments well.

In practice that means one events coordinator from enquiry to event day, front-of-house staff who know the running order, and in-house AV technicians on site rather than at the end of a phone. Those are the things we check before we recommend any venue, and they are the things this award rewards.

Why the sustainability award matters too

More and more of the organisations we book for are asked to report on the environmental impact of their events. A venue that can show its working makes that far easier. Cavendish Venues runs a carbon reduction plan, sends zero waste to landfill and serves locally sourced, seasonal food, and it was the first specialist conference venue operator in London to achieve B Corp certification.
