We aim to reduce packaging wherever possible. The water in our conference rooms is bottled on-site using a machine from Eceau Water. This eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles and reduces transport requirements whilst giving clients a high quality still and sparkling water. We use glasses in the conference room for clients, rather than single-use plastic cups.Recycle
We work closely with our partner, Managed Waste Solutions, to recycle as much of our waste as possible, including:
• Food waste – sent to an anaerobic digestion plant where it is turned into biofertilizer or converted into electricity and heating
• Paper / confidential waste – recycled in preparation for new products
• Cardboard – recycled in preparation for new products
• Plastics and tetra paks – recycled
• Metal – recycled
• General waste – sent to a Materials Recovery Facility which separates the different waste streams in order to recycle as much as possible. The remaining items are turned into a fuel source wherever possible
Our waste breakdown so far this year is:
• Waste sent to landfill: 0%
• Waste recovered (for fuels or biofertilizers): 41.3%
• Waste that has been recycled: 58.7%
Energy Efficient Technology
Wherever possible, we purchase the most energy efficient technology products – including bedroom/meeting room screens, dishwashers, boilers and coffee machines. Our aim is to reduce our energy consumption year-on-year.
We serve Fair Trade tea and coffee across the property – in bedrooms, restaurant and conference facilities. Our chef sources local produce wherever possible or use the minimal amount of suppliers in order to reduce food miles and delivery vehicles on the road.
Step free access around the venue, including 2 lifts and ramps provided. Hotel also offer an accessible bedroom with a wet room.
Easy to work with and cost-effective. In 2014 The Venue Booker was asked to identify a suitable, new venue for Chambers’ prestigious Medical Law Lecture. Jenny not only met the brief by finding the right venue but she also secured it on favourable terms.
