The George Hotel, Amesbury

The George Hotel is a grade 2 listed 16th century coaching inn conveniently located in Amesbury’s High Street. We have 32 high quality accommodating rooms in a classic, yet contemporary style. Rooms at The George all have a TV, private ensuite and tea/coffee facilities. Many also have their charming original characteristics including oak beams, wonky floors and exposed wattle and daub. Guests also enjoy a dinner discount in our welcoming restaurant. The newly renovated Archers Cafe offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for meals or catching up with friends over coffee and cake. Booths have plugs and USB ports for phone charging - ideal for remote working and informal business meetings. The restaurant serves British cuisine and hearty breakfasts are also available to set you up for the day - from continental style to full English. Relax by the fireplace in our cosy updated bar, or enjoy live sport on one our of three TV screens. Friendly staff serve a wide range of drinks including coffee, real ale and local brews. Original features are on display in the bar area including oak beams and roaring fireplaces. We also have a function room for hire with it’s own bar and kitchen available for weddings, business conferences and parties. Monthly events are held ranging from comedy nights, tribute acts and themed dinner parties.
