We have four meeting spaces and an auditorium, located on the ground and first floors featuring a flexible range of layout options. Our contemporary meeting spaces come prepared to suit all requirements, complete with AV functionality in all rooms. Our professional front of house team are dedicated to providing bespoke catering touches, to ensure that your event is as welcoming as it is productive. 47 Bastwick Street also serves as the international headquarters for The Institution of Structural Engineers.
Location
The venue is located in the heart of Clerkenwell, a short walk away from Barbican, Old Street and Farringdon tube and train stations. The venue is convenient to get to within London, as well as if you are travelling from outside of the city.
Rooms
Our tier seated Auditorium is a charming, unique and spacious theatre and located on the ground floor. The space can comfortably seat 104 guests and is equipped with AV equipment for an all-encompassing experience. Fitted with a 3m x 1.68m screen, HD projector, built in ceiling speakers, as well as a lectern and microphone, the Auditorium offers an impressive AV experience. The auditorium is equipped with intimate mood lighting, allowing the lights to be adjusted to match the events.
The Belgrave Suite is the perfect London venue for your next meeting, training session or seminar. Located on the ground floor, it is a bright modern blank canvas space flooded with natural daylight, as well as being equipped with blackout blinds. Hiring this room in conjunction with the adjacent Auditorium gives you the option of two breakout rooms or an additional catering area.
The Bastwick Suite is our most versatile space and is always popular for small conferences, workshops, seminars and board meetings. Located on the first floor, the flexible space comes complete with AV technology and can be set up in various layouts accommodating up to 70 delegates theatre style. The room can be split with a partition to create two individual rooms.

Sustainability
Our building was built in the 1960s and was refurbished and reimagined in 2014 into a vibrant contemporary office building, that showcases the application of sustainability through the reuse of existing assets. The decision to reuse instead of demolishing and building saved 860 tonnes of carbon emissions – the equivalent saving of convincing 1,000 people to skip a cross-Atlantic flight.
Accessibility
The venue is fully accessible for disabled users. There is a ramp into the building for the ground floor spaces, with a lift to the first floor.
