This auditorium at the RSA has been built on the last remaining stretch of 18th-century cobbled roadway, which was part of a tunnel beneath the House leading down to the Thames.  It has a unique atmosphere and offers that wow factor in how the historic location has been modernised so effectively.  It features seating designed by Robin Day and state of the art audio visual equipment including Dolby Surround Sound and a Sanyo XP40 LCD projector.

The auditorium has its own exclusive use entrance, just off The Strand, with a dedicated reception area, cloakroom and facilities.  The RSA also has an all day dining offering in Rawthmells Coffeehouse, catered to by the in house dedicated team from CH&Co Venues.  Catering can be provided in the adjoining vaults, or other event spaces in the house.

The Durham Street Auditorium has a high specification for in house AV with a 3 metre screen and a PA system. The stage is a permanent fixture, seating up to 8 on a panel and makes video recording and conferencing an option in this space.
