University Arms Hotel, Regent Street, Cambridge, CB2 1AD
The University Arms Hotel and Parker’s Piece have been the location of choice for great feasts and celebrations throughout Cambridge’s history. The same celebratory spirit that brought 15,000 people onto the green for Queen Victoria’s Coronation in 1838 remains to this day — whether a graduation party in Parker’s Tavern, a board meeting in the library, or a conference in the Ballroom.
The hotel is located in central Cambridge. It is a 20-minute walk from the train station and a 7-minute walk to the market square.
Ballroom
The grand 272 sq. m. ballroom, with its abundant natural light, high ceilings and original features, has a modern collegiate feel – historical and elegant yet exceptionally workable with clear sightlines and a high ceiling. Original stained-glass windows and an imposing fireplace give the room historical points of interest. The ballroom can accommodate up to 200 people in a theatre or reception set-up and can divide into two sections to allow for smaller events or plenary and breakout space combinations.
The Crick and The Watson
For smaller occasions, the Ballroom can be divided with a solid oak
partition to create two separate rooms: the Crick and the Watson.
The sense of elegance without pomposity, of intimacy over corporate
formality, is unusual for Cambridge. Each room is suitable for up to 70
and 96 seated guests.
Ballroom from £1,950 full day. £1,450 half-day
Crick Room (1/2 of the ballroom ) from £1,200 full day. £900 half day
Watson Room (2/2 of the ballroom) from £750 full day. £550 half day
Day delegate rates (DDR) (min. 20 people) – £72.00 per person
All public areas of the hotel are accessible.
It only takes a couple of minutes to send us your brief online and we will get to work.
Easy to work with and cost-effective. In 2014 The Venue Booker was asked to identify a suitable, new venue for Chambers’ prestigious Medical Law Lecture. Jenny not only met the brief by finding the right venue but she also secured it on favourable terms.
Richard Rodger, Hailsham Chambers
Thank you so much Jenny, you are fantastic and I am grateful for your help.
Mirela Sula, Global Woman
I'd be pleased to recommend Jenny, The Venue Booker. I knew our request was going to be a tall order but she rose to the challenge, negotiated some cracking rates and retained her patience and professionalism despite some spectacular dithering at our end!
Kelly Austin, Expedition & Wilderness Medicine
The Venue Booker provided us with a fantastic selection of venues to view for the two events we enquired about – each of these met our brief, several offered something really special and most of them came with discounted rates that we would not have been able to achieve on our own. The service is free of charge and Jenny is friendly and helpful. We will definitely use them again.
Rachel Bailey, Clement
The Venue Booker is a fantastic service, not only finding the best venue for my event but the constant support throughout the build-up and event itself. Professionalism throughout with great communication. Nothing was too much hassle which made the process effortless! Highly recommend and will be back in the future!
